A Typical Visit
A consultation with your chiropractor will give you the chance to discuss your concerns and get to know one another. On your first visit, you will be asked to complete some paperwork to provide some basic information about yourself and your reason for seeking care.
If your chiropractor feels you will benefit from chiropractic care, a thorough health history and examination of your spine and nervous system will be performed. Your doctor will check your reflexes, have you turn and bend, and perform other chiropractic, physical, and orthopedic tests. After that preliminary review, you will be told if additional diagnostic images are required to complete your examination. Your chiropractor may take additional time to study the results to prepare a report of findings.
If it is determined that yours is not a chiropractic problem, the proper referral will be made. If your doctor feels that chiropractic will help your condition, you will receive a complete diagnosis, and then a recommended care plan of specific chiropractic adjustment.
