Regulatory Body
Currently, the Association’s Regulatory Board regulates the chiropractic profession by:
- Licensing doctors of chiropractic in the province
- Establishing and enforcing a code of ethics and standards of practice
- Investigating and resolving complaints
- Advocating for Manitobans' health and wellness through accessible and affordable health care
In 2009, the government of Manitoba created legislation that will redefine the profession’s role in terms of its regulatory and membership practices.
The new Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) replaces the old Chiropractic Act of Manitoba (1945) and will direct the development of a new organization for chiropractic in Manitoba. The RHPA will also include profession-specific regulations and by-laws.
